Terms of service

Last updated October 14, 2026

By creating a LiftCert account you agree to these terms. If you sign up for a company, you agree on its behalf.

The service

LiftCert is a recordkeeping tool for elevator and lift certificates, test dates and inspector violations. It does not inspect, test or certify any equipment, file anything with a state or city authority, or guarantee that a date it shows is the date an authority requires. The warnings and due dates it shows are based on what you enter; your company remains responsible for its inspections, filings, safety work and required records.

Your data

Your company's records belong to your company. Accessible records can be exported as CSV. See the privacy policy for what we store.

Availability and liability

We work to keep LiftCert available but cannot promise uninterrupted service. Keep any backup records your contracts or code obligations require. The service is provided "as is". To the extent allowed by law, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the previous 12 months.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms and will email account owners about material changes. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
